Horwich has two kinds of minibus job and they could not be less alike. One is the match day and the night out at Middlebrook, where the vehicle exists so that nobody drives and nobody queues to get out of a car park. The other is the walking group heading up towards Rivington who need dropping at one end and collecting from another.

Getting to the stadium is not the hard part. Getting out of it at ten to five with everyone in the same vehicle is. We drop close, wait where we are allowed to wait, and take the group home in one go. The same applies to the cinema, the restaurants and the retail park on a Friday night.

Walking parties rarely finish where they started. We will drop at one car park and collect from another at a time you set, which is the whole reason to book a minibus rather than work out who is driving and who is walking back to the car.
