Bux Travel 16 seater minibus hire

16 seater minibus hire in Bolton, with a driver.

Sixteen is the size most groups ask for, and the size where luggage catches people out. Here is what actually fits, when to go up or down, and how to get a fixed price before you commit.

Choosing the size

Sixteen seats, and what they really hold.

The number on the vehicle is the number of seatbelts. It is not the number of people plus their bags.

A sixteen seater carries sixteen passengers and a driver. That much is simple. What is less obvious is that sixteen seats and sixteen large suitcases do not travel in the same vehicle at the same time. Seats and luggage compete for the same space, and the back rows are usually where the cases would have to go.

When a sixteen seater is the right call

  • A group of twelve to sixteen with day bags — a fixture, a race day, a night out
  • Wedding guest runs between the ceremony, the reception and the hotel
  • Corporate travel where everyone should arrive together and on time
  • Regular contract work, where the same vehicle and driver run the route

When to size up or down

If you are sixteen people going to an airport with a case each, you want eighteen seats or two vehicles — not sixteen seats and optimism. If you are nine or ten with no bags, a smaller vehicle is usually the better answer and we will say so. We would rather quote you the right vehicle than the one you asked for.

Tell us the bags, not just the heads

When you ask for a price, say how many people and how many cases, pushchairs, instruments or kit bags. It changes which vehicle leaves the yard. Getting it wrong is not something anyone can fix on the driveway at five in the morning.

The driver comes with it

Every hire includes an experienced driver. That also means nobody in your group needs a D1 category on their licence, and nobody spends the evening as the designated driver.

Access and school work

We run wheelchair accessible vehicles — tell us when you ask for the price and we will plan around the access needs and still leave the luggage space the group needs. Every driver is DBS checked, including the drivers who cover a route when the regular driver is off, which is what school and council contract work requires.

Next step

Tell us the group, the date and the bags.

We will come back with one fixed figure, and with the right size of vehicle rather than the one that was asked for.

Before you book

The questions we get asked most.

Does a 16 seater hold 16 people and their luggage?

Not with a large case each. Sixteen seats means sixteen seatbelts; the luggage has to go somewhere, and that space is usually the back rows. For sixteen people with full suitcases, plan on eighteen seats or a second vehicle. Tell us the bags when you ask and we will put you in the right one.

Is the driver included, or can I drive it myself?

Every hire comes with an experienced driver. That is the service we provide, and it means nobody in your group needs a D1 category on their licence.

How much is a 16 seater minibus in Bolton?

It depends on the distance, the time of day, how long the vehicle is held and whether you want the return leg booked at the same time. We quote one fixed figure before you commit, and it does not move afterwards.

What if we are 17, or 20, or only 10?

The fleet runs from 4 to 18 seats, so there is usually a single vehicle that fits. Above eighteen we run more than one, kept together so the group arrives at the same time.

Do you have a wheelchair accessible 16 seater?

Yes. Tell us when you ask for the price and we will send an accessible vehicle, along with the seats and luggage space the rest of the group still needs.

Are your drivers DBS checked?

Yes, as a licensed PSV and private hire operator, with DBS checked drivers and vehicles on a scheduled inspection programme. Cover drivers are DBS checked on the same basis.

How far will you go?

Anywhere in the UK. Most work is Bolton, Bury and Greater Manchester, but airport runs, fixtures and trips take us the length of the country.

Can I book the same vehicle every week?

Yes. We run regular contract work, including school and council routes, with the same named driver kept on the run wherever possible.
